Kia ora On friday week 7 we had a special Day because of the shooting in Christchurch. Our school together in the morning made cards to show our respect to the people that have past. Then we met up in the hall to sing and talk about what happened. After that we stood up for a moment of silence. When the moment of silence was finished, the whole school went out side to plant a tree people have been donating to the poor people that have died. 50 people died just because one thought it was the only way for him but it wasn't the way to solve what was in his killers head.
We planted a kowhai tree and one person from different culture planted it with the soil.

Hi Vili this is what I love about Waikowhai Primary School it is the support it shows to the community. I think that it was an awesome thing that your students planted a tree and wrote cards. We also joined in with the national moment of silence too at work. Great stuff WaikowhaI Primary school supporting the community and each other though this very sad time Nga Mihi Nui.
