Have you ever Skateboarded during class time? Guess what we did?Well today Manukau got to do just that!  Our instructors were Ben and Lawrence and they gave us helmets and they helped us put our helmets on. The first thing they taught us how to get on a skateboard. After that we got to ride around for a bit and then Ben asked if everyone could stand on the line again so we stood on the line and had a race. The ones that were in the front got to be in Laurance's group and whoever was at the back went with Ben.

When we were in lines Lorance showed us practices like to react leaning forward and what ever foot you put in front then that was the foot you put at the front of the skateboard. The foot that you didn't put forward then that was the foot you put at the back of the board. After we finished our exercise we got free time which means we can do what ever we wanted, like go down the ramps and riding around.

Friday 27th of November

 The year sixes went to meet our teachers at Waikowhai intermediate school. At 9:00 we went into the hall and the Teachers Called out kids names and whoever got called they had to get up and go with that Teacher. My Class room is room 11 and my Teacher is Miss Baliko She was very nice. Miss Baliko Showed us a slideshow about school. She gave us All about me form and she was talking to our parents about stationary and school uniform after we finished you had to go back to the hall and then after that we came back to school.

Athletics

On Tuesday 27th of October our school did athletics. In the morning we got numbers written on our hands and did the roll. After that we went and got our hats and drink bottles from our bags. Then we went to sit in our age groups on the court. Then well Ms Sands was explaining what we were doing and the rotation every one was putting sun block on. Then we stood up and went to our first activity My group went to the 400 and 200 metre run. When we got to the station Mr Riceman ask for the eleven year olds. My friend Yousuf, Nicholas and Me stood up and then we raced but because there were only three boyz but we still raced any ways. Then most of the day went past and when it was the end of the day we did house relays every house came up with and chant for there team and it was very fun.          Blog you later 

Cartoon Strips

Kia ora People My Name is Vili,From Waikowhai Primary School 
Im Year Six in Manukau, 
For cartoon strips we had to make a google drawing and make a Table. Then we had to pick a cartoon charter and create speech bubbles. After that then we had to make a conversation and translate it into Maori. We also used the google translator to get our Maori words. I picked a Dog and a Robots and Simple speech bubbles from the tool bar. Blog you later!!! 

   

Lunch for Tongan Language

Tongan Language Week 

This Friday we did a special lunch and  we brought in

Tongan clothes for Tongan language week. My friends Jacob, Freddy Brought in some Lu Sipi and Keke esite. Then we had to go into the orange space well our teachers Un rapped the food. Then our teachers took heaps of photos of us and the food and our clothes. When we first came to school we took photos and then we went to the office and took more photo. Then we took the roll and then went to room 9 and watched a Tongan performance. Then We had to stand up and tell them what our clothes and what they are called. Then we did  a Kahoot about Tonga. I was coming first but my Chromebook glitch out of the game my friends that in the photo below came 1st 2nd and 3rd Have a good rest of your day

Matariki

Matariki 

Kia Ora Bloggers On Thursday we did 3 rotations based around Mataiki. 1st Rotation my class did was Making Fry bread with Mrs Jones. We made doe then we added more flour and then we rolled it out and then cut it into six pieces and fried them and we also got to pick what we wanted in it. Next activity we did was Stop Motion about Maori Myths. We used Clay, Play doe and a paper background to make a little story and then we added audio and shared it with the class .

Then our last activity of the day was making a big kite we got a strip of white paper or a black strip and we had to draw Maori patterns and color it in with crayon or pastel. This Mataiki Experience was so fun I Wish could do it again.
